Russia and Syria will hold further talks regarding Russian military bases in Syria, Russia's news agencies reported late on Tuesday, citing Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov as telling journalists after his talks with Syrian officials."This issue requires additional negotiations," TASS news agency cited Bogdanov as saying. Bogdanov is heading Russia's delegation to Damascus for the first time since Moscow's ally President Bashar al-Assad was toppled.He added that so far there have been no changes to the presence of Russian military bases in the country.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met with Hamas leader Muhammad Ismail Darwish in Ankara on Wednesday, Erdogan's office said in a statement.Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin also attended the meeting, as well as other Hamas officials.

US prosecutors on Wednesday moved to end the criminal case against two associates of President Donald Trump for allegedly helping to obstruct a probe into Trump's mishandling of classified documents, a court filing showed.The pair, Trump personal valet Walt Nauta and property manager Carlos De Oliveira, did not object to prosecutor's decision, according to the filing.The move marks the end of the two prosecutions of Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith, who resigned from the Justice Department earlier this month ahead of Trump's return to the presidency.

A 38-year-old man was fatally shot early on Wednesday morning while in his vehicle on Highway 75 near the Kfar HaHoresh intersection near Migdal HaEmek in northern Israel.The victim, a resident of Nazareth, was pronounced dead at the scene by MDA paramedics. The Israel Police opened an investigation into the shooting, which they have determined was a criminal act not a terrorism one."We saw a man about 38-year-old in his vehicle unconscious and suffering from severe penetrating injuries to his body, after he was involved in a violent incident," MDA paramedic, Meir Alisha, said in a statement. "We performed medical examinations, but unfortunately his injuries were significant and we were forced to determine his death."

US President Donald Trump issued an order on Tuesday to stop federal funding, sponsorship, promotion, assistance, for gender affirming care for children under age 19.The order fulfills an election promise by Trump to end "child sexual mutilation," an apparent reference to gender-affirming care."It is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called 'transition' of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures," Trump's executive order reads.The order released on Tuesday directs the health and human services secretary to review how to promote the health of children who assert gender dysphoria, rapid-onset gender dysphoria, or "other identity-based confusion."

The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and thanked him for "his mediation efforts to secure the release of hostages from Gaza" according to a statement by the US State Department on Tuesday evening.Rubio also "reinforced the importance of holding Hamas accountable, and ensuring they release all remaining hostages. The Secretary also underscored that discussions to advance post-conflict planning for the governance and security of Gaza for the longer-term are vital for regional security and stability," according to the statement.During the same call, Rubio and Al Thani also discussed "Qatar’s facilitation in securing the recent release of two unlawfully detained Americans held by the Taliban in Afghanistan."
