At least seven people were killed and 30 hospitalized after "illegal interference" caused a bridge to collapse and a train to derail in Russia's Bryansk region that borders Ukraine, Russian authorities said early on Sunday.The train's locomotive and several cars derailed "due to the collapse of a span structure of the road bridge as a result of an illegal interference in the operation of transport," Russian Railways said on the Telegram messaging app.Two children were among those hospitalized, one of them in a serious condition, Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region, said on Telegram. Among those killed was the locomotive driver, Russia's state news agencies reported, citing medics.

Stanley Fischer, former Governor of the Bank of Israel, passed away on Saturday at age 81. He held dual Israeli and American citizenship. Fischer served as Governor of the Bank of Israel from 2005 to 2013, and also served as Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2017, under the Obama administration. The Bank of Israel eulogized Fischer, writing, "Prof. Fischer made a decisive contributor to Israel's economy - both in his role as the IMF's representative to Israel in the 1980s, when he played a significant part in formulating the 1985 economic stabilization program, and during his tenure as Governor of the Bank, when he led a responsible economic policy during a challenging period that included the global financial crisis of 2008."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that a response to the US letter concerning a potential agreement on Iran’s nuclear program is being prepared, Saudi newspaper Al-Hadath reported on Sunday.
